Opportunities at Hart Ranch
Workamper Employee – Requires working 20 hours per week for Hart Ranch Members or 26 hours per week per site for non-members. This position allots for a full hook up site, cable, WiFi, laundry allowance, water and sewer hookup, and more! Then the employee is paid for any hours worked over the 20 or 26 hour requirement. The Workamper accepts the predetermined site assignment and stays on that assigned site, unless required moving to another site by management.
Hart Ranch Resident Employee Paid – Those in this position live at Hart Ranch and the 21/9 rule applies. The employee must pay for their site but they are paid for all hours worked.
Hart Ranch Resident Supervisor Paid – Those in this position live at Hart Ranch and will stay on an assigned site, unless required moving to another site by management. This position is paid for all hours worked.
Local Employee – Those in this position lives off of Hart Ranch and the position is paid for all hours worked.
Seasonal Position– With the booming tourist season in the Black Hills during the spring and summer months, there are plenty of extra opportunities at Hart Ranch Camping Resort if you are looking for employment in Rapid City. A seasonal position will allow you to work during the “busier” season at Hart Ranch. This is ideal for college students or others that are looking for summer work.

Departments at Hart Ranch
The Business Office is responsible for all administrative, Human Resources, accounting, and financial matters for the Resort.
The Reservations Staff is the first contact our guests or members have with Hart Ranch Resort. This department handles the guest’s check-ins, check-outs, as well as making computerized reservations. Those in on the Reservation Staff are highly visible and are the foremost source of information for our guests regarding the area attractions and the Resort Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations. A smile can go a long way, especially for guests from out of state looking for a little extra help or ideas of area events and attractions!
The Hart Mart is the on-site country store with all the conveniences of a small grocery store, gift shop, and gas station to meet your camping needs. Duties in the Hart Mart include cashier duties, stocking, and other general store duties. Those seeking opportunities at Hart Ranch in the Hart Mart should have a great understanding of products, be able to stand for long periods of time, and have impeccable customer service.
Hart Ranch Camping Resort has 72 rental units on the property. The housekeeping staff handles general cleaning and laundry duties for these units as well as the six comfort stations, the pool bathhouse, laundries, and the Lodge building. Applicants considering opportunities at Hart Ranch in the housekeeping department should be self-motivated, team players, and dedicated workers. Workampers play a key role in the housekeeping department. Not only are workampers integral in the laundry positions within the department, but also, workampers have exclusively cared for the comfort stations during the past couple of seasons with superior success.
Our Maintenance team handles all of the grounds keeping duties, as well as building maintenance and repairs, general plumbing and carpentry work, and pool maintenance. If you are seeking employment in Rapid City and you are self-motivated, have a good knowledge of lawn care, have the ability to lift 50 pounds, and are able to work without constant supervision – this department may be for you!
Security is provided for our members and guests 24 hours per day, in season. Security includes patrol of Hart Ranch and gatehouse duties. Our security staff is also trained to handle all emergency situations that could arise. If you have a good grasp of safety, CPR techniques, a friendly professional smile, and the ability to work well with the public, you may be a great fit for this opportunity at Hart Ranch Camping Resort.

Our activities department positions range from manning the activity shed filled for equipment checkout, to coordination of our Rodeos, to planning the assortment of daily activities at Hart Ranch or themed weekends! The Hart Ranch Resort Pool and Spa complex is considered to be the centerpiece of its recreational facilities. As such, we are looking for couples or individuals who enjoy working in a sun and fun filled setting where emphasis is placed on providing a memorable experience for family members and guests. Good interpersonal skills are required to help maintain a safe and healthy environment while monitoring and enforcing pool and spa rules. Training in pool upkeep, water chemistry, basic first-aid and CPR will be provided as required. What a rewarding way to spend the summer!
Spring Creek Grille
Looking for employment in Rapid City in food service? The Spring Creek Grille is the restaurant located on Hart Ranch where our guests, and the public, are served delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We also cater and rent out rooms for special events like parties and reunions! Some of the duties for this opportunity at Hart Ranch Camping Resort include food prep, cleanup, serving line duties, and minimal dining room service are required. In conjunction with the restaurant, a snack bar serves mid-day through the evening hours.
The Resort Sales Department handles all marketing tours, promotional stays, and public relations in regards to the Resort’s memberships. Positions available will be clerical or tour-related.
